EARMARKS:
Sarah Palin claims she is against lobbyist and earmarks. As Mayor of Wasilla,population 6,571, she had more than 27 million in earmarks . Here are some examples.
*499,900 to asses Halibut(fish) harvesting
*500,000 for a youth shelter
*900,000 for sewer repairs
*1.9 million for a transportation hub
*15 million for rail project

In 2000 Palin hired well known D.C. lobbyist, Steven Silver. In 2008 Gov. Palin sent Sen. Ted Stevens, known to "bring home the bacon".On Palin's behalf , Stevens purposed 31 earmarks totaling more than 197 million .
Palin told the News-Miner that she had slashed earmark request by nearly 2/3. Down from 550 million in 2007, to 197 million in 2008.Records released by her office showed earmarks were 254 million in 2007 and 197 million in 2008, down 22%, not the 63% she claimed.
What stands out about Palin's economics, is that she had 197 million dollars in earmarks in 2007, when Alaska grossed more than 10 billion dollars in 2007, almost twice that of years before, as Alaska reaped some benefits in the hike in oil prices. Seems as if the national deficit is not a concern of hers.

Bridge To Nowhere

Bridge to nowhere:
In 2006 Palin ran on the platform "Build-the-bridge" saying," It was essential for local prosperity." She also said,"I will not allow the spinmeisters to turn this project, or any others into something so negative." Soon after people began to criticizes building the bridge, she flip-flopped, and decided she was now against the bridge. Ketchikan Mayor, where the bridge was to be built, Bob Weinstein, criticized Palin for call it a "bridge to nowhere" in her RNC speech, because in 2006, Palin said the name "bridge to nowhere" was insulting.Palin has said over and over again,"thanks but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere." but she kept that "bridge to nowhere" MONEY! To Sara's defence, she says that is not why she fired her. She said she felt the librarian didn't give her her full support and it had nothing to do with her voting for her opponent.

note: There was a rumor of Palin having an affair with a business man she worked with.At this time,McCain/Palin has threatened to sue sources of that story.Since then stories have been removed and pages deleted. Since those pages are no longer available, like they were, it stands as a rumor.

Why am I writing this?

When John McCain announced that he had chosen Sara Palin as his running mate, I had never even heard of her. I wanted to know who she was , and watched the news continuously to get information. But the news wasn't giving me the kind of information I wanted to know. After a few days of getting nothing from the media, but coverage of this woman's hair and her glasses, I decided to do my own research.
I'm just your regular ,every day, average person with the same access to things as anyone else. So I spent some times online reading everything I could about Sara Palin. After doing my homework, I came up with my own opinion about Palin. I am giving you the FACTS , so you can make your own opinion. I Will also list all of my resources, so you can go look for yourself.

Basically , what I'm touching on here, is the things Palin highlighted herself, the bridge to nowhere, reform, earmarks, the pipeline, jet on Ebay,Alaska Independence Party,pro life, assembly of God, the affair, chef being fired, and all that.

I will say that things got a little strange while I was researching her. Pages were edited and changed, a lot of them were deleted and things like that. Since some of this info is no longer available, I wont be commenting on them since I wont have that resource to back up what I'm saying. I saw some pages which you can tell were deliberately changed to favor Palin, but I guess you can expect that to a certain degree.

I think this is one of the most important elections the US has seen in a while , and I think people should be able to make informed choices on who they vote for. All the other candidates went through the ringer for over 19 months. It's only fair that Palin has her turn, only we have less than 2 months to get to know her.She is not helping by avoiding the media. During the primaries , Palin said Hillary Clinton needed to stop whining about her treatment by the press. So she should be ready to deal with it herself.
